Today I write to you today from a state of pure bliss as I sit at my desk on my lunch break eating a meal I have only dreamed about since moving to England… NY Pizza!
I pass the little cafe everyday on the way to the post office noting the ’11” pizza for £3′ sign outside. I always think, ‘I should try it one day’. Today was the day. Leaving the post office in disgust after refusing to wait on a queue of 30 people I stopped at the cafe to discover the inside looked just like a NY pizza joint. The clear glass shelves were displaying Italian Panini’s and little thin crispy cheesy pizzas. When the pizza guy stopped tossing dough in the air to take my order with an italian accent, I knew this place had to be something special.
It is! The pizza tastes just like Ceasars – cheesy and thin without too much seasoning – perfect! He even cut it properly – slapped it the counter, slammed the cutter into it and briskly sliced it into eighths.
It takes a real weight off my shoulders knowing I can have NY pizza whenever I like!! 🙂 Now, if they can only triple the size and started selling by the slice!
