Deadlines!

I’m a different person than I was in college… I have matured, learned self-discipline, and stopped procrastinating. I am a new woman ready to take on the professional world with an organized, optimistic approach. Nothing can stand in my way…

This Monday was my 3-month deadline for Suite101.com. As a contributing writer I am contracted to publish at least ten articles in a 3-month period. As of Friday May 2nd, I had published six. That is four below the required minimum amount (for those of you who forgot first grade math) and I had less than three days (that’s 5 minus 2) to meet the deadline.

Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday night, and Sunday night I wrote… wrote… and wrote as if I would be banished from the earth itself if I did not complete the last four articles.

Needless to say I did — or this blurb would have began quite differently. I reached my goal and their requirement with time to spare… 12 minutes to be exact… plenty of time!

So like I said, I have matured, learned self-discipline, and stopped procrastinating.

(And if that isn’t enough to convince you, I’m writing this at 3:15 in the afternoon at work.)
